Scoring Sticks

The simplest way to play is to use the scoring sticks to track each time you get your opponent into a pit. To start, place 5 scoring sticks into the angled wall of your corner pit. Each time you pit your opponent, you take a scoring stick from the pit closest to you and move it to the wall. The first competitor to five sticks wins.

  • * Handicapping options: The underdog can score into any of the four pits, while the overdog only scores into 3, 2, or 1 specific pits. Alternatively the underdog can start with a 2 stick lead.
  • ** If both bots go into a pit at the same time there are a few ways to handle it. If there is a "clear aggressor" they get the stick. If there was not a clear aggressor there is no stick given and play resets.

Play with a "play clock"

Having a clock on the match can add to the excitement! Matches are 3 minutes long. You win if you have the most sticks when the buzzer sounds. If the scores are tied, the next competitor to get their opponent into the pit wins the match.

Synchronized multi-arena competition with a "play clock"

If you are interested in hosting a tournament, see Turnabot Turnaments. Our vision is to see tournaments played in a two hour window to make it easier to hook your friends and make battling more accessible to everyone.
