Malenki HV (High Voltage): a Triple Brushed ESC + Receiver Combo

(0 review)

The Malenki HV (High Voltage)  is a compact triple brushed ESC and receiver combo designed specifically for combat robotics. Using the AFHDS2A radio protocol, it combines drive control, weapon control, and radio reception into a single lightweight board, making it an excellent choice for 1 lb and smaller robots.

Power and Performance

The Malenki-HV is designed for 2S–4S lipo batteries. The motor drivers are rated at 3.5A per channel (Right Drive, Left Drive, and Weapon). Testing has shown that they typically hit over current protection near 4.2 amps.

Radio Protocol Compatibility

AFHDS AFHDS2A

The “2A” designation is critical. Please ensure your transmitter supports AFHDS2A before use.

Compatible Transmitters (Radios)

  • Many FlySky and Turnigy radios with AFHDS2A support

  • Most OpenTX-based transmitters

  • Works even with radios that cannot mix steering, thanks to internal configuration options

Malenki HV - Specific Design Features

  • Integrated micro-crystal radio module for a thinner profile, reduced failure risk, and 0.2 g weight savings

  • Power distribution solder rings for cleaner, simpler wiring

  • Enlarged solder pads to support high-strand-count wire

  • PWM pads (Pulse Width Modulation) on both sides of the board for flexible layouts

Output Channels

  • 3 brushed ESC outputs (Triple ESC / TESC)

  • 2 PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) outputs, configurable for servos or brushless ESCs

Configuration Options

Configuration mode is entered by powering the Malenki 5 seconds before the radio, then sending Hi-Low pulses on Channel 5. The blue light will flicker. Configuration mode lets you change the Malenki’s internal settings. These settings are saved even when the bot is turned off.

Available options include:

  • Reverse left or right drive motors

  • Disable mixing

  • Disable braking

  • Enable servo stretching (use with caution)

100% Steering Mix Mode

The Malenki Nano supports an internal 100% steering mix, rather than the default 50%. This is ideal for users whose transmitters cannot increase steering mix internally. Steering sensitivity can be reduced using dual rates or endpoint adjustments on the transmitter (radio) if needed.

Support Notes

If you need assistance troubleshooting your Malenki, please send:

  • Clear photos of both sides of the board

  • A photo of the entire wiring harness

We will do our best to help you get your robot running reliably.
